Dagan, Yitzhak

Yitzhak, son of Avraham and Tova Dagan, was born in Petah Tikva in 1941. In November 1959 he was drafted into the IDF and served in a combat force. During his vacations, when he came home, he enthusiastically recounted his many experiences in the army and the various landscapes of the country he passed on foot. On the 14th of Sivan (May 31, 1969), Major Yitzhak fell in the shelling together with his driver, when they rushed to rescue a tractor driver who was wounded in a fortification operation. He left behind a wife and a son. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
