Ben Nurit and Uri. Born on 30 April 1976 in Tel Aviv, a member of a family with three children, Eli studied at the “State B” elementary school in Ra’anana, at the elementary school and junior high school in Kochav Yair. At the “New High School” in Hod Hasharon, and at Ort Kfar Saba, where he was a sports enthusiast, and when he grew up, he divided his time between football, basketball, rugby and tennis, and was especially fond of the sea. At the end of his high school studies, Eli already knew that he would be a “big head” in the army and would join an elite unit, and when he joined the IDF in November 1994 he was assigned to the brigade Paratroopers. He did not have time to complete basic training, but during his brief service, he received the appreciation of his commanders and his friends in the unit for his kindness, dedication and willingness to volunteer and help with any mission. Ali was killed while carrying out his duties on the 22nd of Shvat 5752 (January 22, 1995), when a bomb exploded in a Beit Lahid junction. After the first explosion of the bomb, Elai felt he was helping to treat the wounded and while he was wearing one of the wounded, he was injured in the second explosion. Along with him, twenty-one additional soldiers and one civilian were killed. He was nineteen when he fell. He was brought to the rank of corporal after his death, and was succeeded by his parents, Adili and brother Elad, who was brought to rest in the cemetery in Kochav Yair. Who were killed in the attack, in the “Children’s Forest.” On January 16, 2003, the OC Central Command granted Brigadier-General Eli Dagan a personal commendation, which was given to his family: “For self-sacrifice, Heart, the discovery of resourcefulness and being a model and an example. “
