Dadon, Moses
Son of Yosef and Aliza. He was born on March 15, 1952 in Casablanca, Morocco. He immigrated to Israel with his family in 1962. He studied at the Talmud Torah elementary school in his hometown and continued his studies at the Hadasim Elementary School in Yokneam Illit. Afterward, he continued his high school studies at the Sde Ya’akov Yeshiva and at the Air Force Technical School. He was a diligent and talented student and excelled in the mechanics profession. He liked to read professional and scientific literature, books on religion and tradition, encyclopedias and fine literature. Moshe was a sports fan and exercised a great deal of power. Moshe was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in March 1971. After completing basic training, he was sent to the IAF base in the center of the country as an aircraft and helicopter mechanic, and he was promoted to the Bell Company in the United States. “Moshe was a disciplined and talented soldier, and was therefore awarded the title of ‘Outstanding Soldier’ and promoted to the rank of sergeant before the time. His promotion in the squadron was very quick and in his role as head of staff proved his talent for knowledge and guidance. “On October 14, 1976, Moshe fell while serving. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Yokneam cemetery. Survived by his parents and three sisters. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “Moshe was modest and quiet, generous and kind, he never refused to do his job and was always willing to help and reach out despite the energy and hours he devoted to his work. In his room, we found many books on various subjects, including professional literature from which he learned and progressed, he was observant, and while he was in the United States, he was meticulous in observing the mitzvot and keeping kosher and prayer times. ” His parents donated a Torah scroll to the synagogue in Yokneam Illit
