Dabi, Tzadok
Son of Yehezkel and Ilana. He was born on July 31, 1957 in Haifa, where he studied at the local Yalag elementary school and continued his studies in the junior high school at the Ein Hayam school. Shadu, a social activist, was highly intelligent and excelled in his studies, especially in his favorite fields: literature, language and Bible. He was well versed in the Bible, used many of the verses, and even used his language, and was fluent in English and French, and learned Arabic in his spare time, was active in the Scouts movement, volunteered for the Civil Guard in his area of residence, Part of all the Gadna campaigns, in the framework of the Tzadok School, he wrote poetry, studied literature and even translated foreign languages, such as English, French and Arabic. Despite his many occupations, he always found time to help his friends. He never turned his back on a request for help, and in particular was deeply attached to his family. Despite his great companionship and good cheerfulness, he was withdrawn and did not rush to open his Lev to people. He found the solutions to his personal problems within himself, and released them into poetry. In August 1976, Zadok was drafted into the IDF and assigned to the Signal Corps, after completing basic training in various courses, on the 12th of Tishrei 5739 (October 12, 1978) he fell while serving in the Golan Heights, and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Haifa. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Zadok was an example and a model for a good soldier, and he was willing to give much more than was necessary.” His family donated a Torah library in his name to the Sha’ar HaShamayim synagogue in Haifa.
