Dabashvili, Michael
The son of Natala and Nuder. He was born on June 11, 1988 in Haifa. A younger brother to Shmuel and Rosa (Rosie). Michael’s birthday was the happiest day of family life, a day full of light and happiness. He was a lovely baby and a handsome boy, with round black eyes and long curly hair, the most beloved and spoiled child of the brothers. Michael had the wisdom to see at the age of three when he spoke fluently and remembered phone numbers in a row. With his great curiosity he tried to open everything, and in every possible corner he could be found with screwdrivers in his hands. Michael was educated at the “Sprinzak” elementary school in Kiryat Ata and excelled in all fields, both educational and social. He continued in the junior high school “Rogozin – Brigade A” in a sports class. Michael played in Kiryat Ata’s volleyball team, the team was very successful and Michael loved the industry very well. He graduated from Rogozin High School in his city, specializing in television and radio broadcasting. For his high achievements in his studies he received certificates of excellence. In one of Michael’s notebooks, he interviewed three boys, fans of three different football teams. The article was published in Yediot Ahagen and on the newspaper’s website. During this period Michael was at the height of his social prosperity – surrounded by friends and popular among the girls. He loved dance very much, it was the love of his life. His dream was to learn and dance professionally. He liked to hang out with friends in clubs, listen to music, go on walks. He also enjoyed long sleep, but he took advantage of every possible moment in my spare time. Perhaps most of all Michael had the talent to play. He was very funny and even an entertainer – his stay at his side was an enjoyable and interesting experience for those around him, and of course he appeared in school plays and at the end of the year ceremonies. Michael was very involved in social activities: he headed the Rogozin Student Council, out of a desire to contribute to the improvement and advancement of students, school and school conditions. He volunteered for the “Michael” project, where he adopted a younger student and accompanied him in everything, like a big brother. Was active in the struggle against road accidents and received certificates of appreciation for his contribution in this area. He took an active part in youth movements, volunteered in the community, participated in sports clubs and more. Michael was chosen from among the thousands of students in the city to guide the Kiryat Ata Independence Day ceremony to 60,000 spectators, residents and guests, in the city’s main park. His family and friends were so proud of him, “We went with our heads up, that Michael was our son and our brothers.” Michael was sure of his career in the army. He had no doubt about what he wanted – to continue his brother Shmuel’s way in the Givati unit. He wanted to be a combatant and contribute to the state, he was not afraid. Michael joined the IDF in November 2006, and was very excited both for him and for his loving family: he was assigned to an infantry unit, enjoyed his service and was an officer, but his plans were interrupted. Michael died in the course of his duties on 7 April 2007, when he died at the age of 19. He was buried in the military section of the Kiryat Ata cemetery and was survived by his parents, brother and sister, , Chapter 9, verse 2: “A good man, and no one of the children of Israel is better than he, higher and higher than all the people.”
