Caspi, Avraham-Menachem (Hemi)


Avraham-Menachem, son of Bella and Zvi-Aryeh Caspi, was born on August 30, 1929 in Jerusalem. On the 2nd of Tammuz 5708 (9.7.1948), Avraham-Menachem fell. He was nineteen years old when he fell. His body remained in the area and could not be reached. Only a month later, his father, accompanied by a patrolman from the Seventh Battalion, was allowed to search for him. They spent three days searching until they found the body, and with it they made their way to Tel Aviv in a convoy of soldiers on vacation after a long stay in the Negev. Corporal Avraham-Menachem was brought for burial in the temporary cemetery in Sheikh Bader in Jerusalem. On the 17th of Sivan 5761 (21.6.1951) he was transferred to eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Avraham-Menachem left behind his parents, two brothers and a sister.
