Cashyuf (Cashyuv), Yehuda

Son of Hannah and Jacob was born on the 11th of Kislev 5724 (19.11.1923) in Jerusalem. On the 5th of Shevat 5748 (February 5, 1948), he was sitting next to the Jewish Agency buildings. At 10 pm two shots were fired at him from nearby “Zone B” by British soldiers, and he knelt and died before he could return fire. He was buried on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. His name was engraved on the monument erected in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in memory of those who perished in the Jewish Quarter and the memory of soldiers who fell in the battle for Jerusalem and were buried on the Mount of Olives.
