Carmoyel (Carmiel), Meir (Max, Blondini)


Meir, son of Tova and Abraham Carmiel, was born in 1924 in Berlin, the capital of Germany and in 1935 they immigrated to Israel and settled in Jerusalem. At the beginning of the War of Independence, he enlisted for a full mobilization, served as a company sergeant in one of the “Moriah”. Meir was hit by a round of bullets and fell on 28 Adar 2, 8 April 1948. He was buried in Ma’ale Hachamisha. On the 19th of Kislev 5714 (19.11.1953) he was put to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
