Carmeli (Glatz), Yitzhak


Was born on September 19, 1926, in the city of Soprin, Hungary, and grew up in the town of Sumuria, Slovakia. When he was liberated from the death camp, Yitzhak immigrated to Israel in 1946, and joined the Etzel (National Military Organization) when the underground war was already under way, and devoted himself entirely to the struggle against British rule in Palestine. On the 12th day of Adar I 5741 (February 16, 1981), while sleeping in his home in Tiberias, Yitzhak died due to a sudden complication of heart and lung disease. He was 55 years old when he died. Yitzhak was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Tiberias and left a wife behind.
