When no evidence was found, Avraham was sent without trial to detention in the Latrun camp and six months later, on February 1, 1947, was released on bail. When the War of Independence began, he was greatly pleased to return to combat duty and was appointed commander of the unit. Avraham participated in punitive measures against the Arabs, in the search for weapons among the Arabs in Tel Arish, and in attacks on British weapons that were preparing to leave the country. Then he was responsible for the section on the front of Abu Kabir.
