Bonhardy, Chaim (Muki)

Chaim, son of Margaret and Edward Alfred Bonhardy, was born on November 23, 1923, in Teplitz, in the Sudeten region of the Czech Republic. In March 1939 he moved to Eretz Israel and continued his training in Kinneret, where he tried to trace his father, who had disappeared in Russia, but in vain. Although he was already married and then father of a child, and knew that the profession of the sapper was a dangerous profession, he went to a sabotage course and then trained dozens of young people. He also played a responsible role in the area. In the winter of 1948, he carried on all the tasks he had, without knowing fatigue day and night. On 15 Iyar, May 24, 1948, Haim was killed by a landmine that exploded. He was brought to rest in the cemetery at Kibbutz Dorot, and left behind a wife and son.
