Bittman, David

David was born on November 6, 1944 in Kfar Hahoresh, and moved to Kibbutz Yifat in 1948. David was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of November 1962. During his service, he took paratroopers and officers courses. When the Yom Kippur War broke out he refused to serve in the rear and voluntarily joined his former battalion, which fought on the southern front. On the 21st of Tishrei 5734 (17.10.1973), his unit was surprised by an enemy tank ambush. He was brought to rest in the cemetery in Yifat. He left behind a wife and three children and parents.
