Biton, Nissim


Son of Esther and Yitzchok. Born in Morocco on the 19th of Cheshvan, November 11, 1949. In 1956, Nissim immigrated to Israel with his family. At the age of 17, Nissim volunteered to serve in the paratroopers. In February 1984, Nissim was called up for reserve duty and was sent with his unit to Lebanon. Nissim was very proud of his military service as a parachutist. He was willing to volunteer for any mission. When the jeep, where Nissim was driving, on a bridge on the Nabatiyeh-Arab-Salem road, they were shot at. Nissim fell in the line of duty on the 25th of Adar 1, February 28, 1984. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Nes Ziona. He left behind a wife, three sons, a mother, brothers and sisters.
