Biton, Baruch
Son of Hanania and Phoebe. He was born in 1952 in Casablanca, Morocco, and immigrated with his family in 1956. He attended the Chabad elementary school in Jerusalem’s Ir Ganim neighborhood and completed high school at the Blumenthal Yeshiva in Jerusalem. He continued his studies at Yeshivat Neve Eretz and at She’erit Yosef Yeshiva in Be’er Yaakov. During his studies he was a member of a yeshiva youth organization. Baruch was God-fearing, loved to help others and devoted most of his free time to it. He showed sincere and caring concern for the plight of those around him and was devoted to his extended family. Together with his friends, he bought a building intended for the establishment of a yeshiva, the Orita Yeshiva, where about fifty yeshiva students and yeshiva students study. Baruch was drafted into the IDF in February 1976. He was a kashrut supervisor on behalf of the army rabbinate in an IAF unit, and Baruch was a quiet and modest soldier by nature (12.3.1986) Baruch fell during his service and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
