Ben-Yitach, Shimon

Shimon, son of Fanny and Meir Son of-Yitach, was born on 16.11.1962 in Moshav Pedia. When the Peace for Galilee war broke out, Shimon was sent with his unit to Lebanon. In the battle that took place at the outskirts of the city of Tzur, when part of the force had to be salvaged, Shimon lay in the corner of one of the buildings and fought for the force. He was hit by shrapnel that was fired at our forces and fell on the day of 15 Sivan, 5762 (1982). He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Ramle. He left behind his parents, brothers and sisters.
