Ben Tikva, Avraham (Avramele)

Son of Rachel and Chaim, was born on May 7, 1931, in the Borochov neighborhood of Giv’atayim, at the age of five and a half, a young girl who had saved himself from a car was seriously injured and injured when he awoke. The People’s Book studied electricity for a year and went to the junior training group at the Kinneret group. He then explained his work as a need to prepare a homeland for the brothers of the survivors, to prepare the land for them, because they, exhausted by suffering, “can not create primary sources of sustenance.” The obligation to do so.) At the age of 14 and 14 he participated in the agricultural work as an old man and used to be fond of the children and adults in the group. “Hanoar Haoved” (“Working Youth”) went up to Biriya and from there moved to the enlisted hachshara, and in May 1948, at the age of 17, he enlisted in one of the Palmach regiments. When he was sent to a commanders’ course, he fled back to his battalion, saying, “I will not sit on the school bench while my friends leave for the front.” In the second stage of the “Dani” operation, prior to the second truce, a “Mickey” operation took place, one of which was the conquest of the Latrun area. This was the fourth attack on this area and the task was assigned to the Harel Brigade. The plan was to attack from the east, to occupy the “range of cannons” and from there to advance and conquer the entire complex. The force embarked on its mission on the night of July 16-17, 1948, and conquered most of the ridge, overcoming the fierce resistance of the Legion. The enemy carried out a counter-attack and even activated, for the first time at night, its armor reserves. The appearance of the armored vehicles surprised the Harel fighters, who did not have anti-tank weapons and under enemy pressure had to retreat. Avraham went out with the “Forts” unit, where he served as a machine gunner. When his second machine gunner was badly wounded, he straightened up, loaded the heavy machine gun on his hip, and charged ahead of dozens of Legion soldiers, and according to his commander, he acted as an example of his comrades who stormed him. He was short in the enemy with his machine gun until he hit a bullet in his forehead and it fell to light on July 17, 1948. On the 28th of Adar 5702 (28.2.1950) he was laid to rest at the military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem .
