Ben Naim, Chai Matan

Chai Matan, son of Avivit and David Son of Naim, was born in Be’er Sheva in 1994. After enlisting, he asked to serve in the Golani Brigade but was assigned to the Logistics Corps. Chai, who loved to cook from an early age, took a cookery course and began to serve as a cook in a regimental kitchen. He was a kind boy, and his joy of life was visible to all. He fell in the course of his duty on 28 Av, August 4, 2013, in a car accident on his way to the base, at the age of 19. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Rishon Letzion. After his death Chai was promoted to the rank of corporal. Three weeks after the death of Chai, his father died of cardiac arrest.
