Ben Irit and Giora. He was drafted into the Engineering Company of the Nahal Brigade and joined the Shalfman team, the August 1994 team. After infantry recruits, he was chosen as liaison – the platoon commander, acted as a magistrate and moved with the advanced training team. He completed a sabotage course and continued on to the course of a squad commander and a non-commissioned officer. Eshel served in the company’s team of sergeants and spent two periods of operational service at the “Pumpkin” post in Lebanon. His commanders describe him as a professional soldier with a high level of leadership and motivation for military service, and is popular among his commanders and friends alike. Eshel Amir Ben Moshe fell in battle in Lebanon on June 10, 1996. The force embarked on an overnight mission and, as they returned from the operation the next morning, on the Ali Taher ridge in southern Lebanon, the force encountered a terrorist ambush and a short-range battle ensued. Eshel Shechter, deputy Lior Ramon, Staff Sergeant Idan Gavriel and Sergeant Yaniv Roimi were killed at the age of 21. He was laid to rest in the Misgav cemetery and left behind his parents, sister and brother. At his funeral, Irit eulogized him: “You were the best of all. My dear son. Everyone loved you. How can one say goodbye to such a soul? “And the father, Giora, added:” Such a precious son. The terrible news struck us. It was so good when you were with us. Jonathan, the little brother, was proud of you. You were always surrounded by friends.
