Ben-Artzi (Friedlander), Gabriel (Gabi)

Gabriel, son of Avraham and Fay (Zipora) Son of-Artzi (Friedlander), was born on February 8, 1956 in Tel Aviv. Gabi was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in January 1974 and volunteered for the Israel Air Force after completing his basic training course, and was sent to the Israel Air Force Squadron in northern Israel. On May 10 1977, he was in the crash of a helicopter in the Jordan Valley that killed 54 soldiers. Gabriel was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul and left behind his parents and sister.
