Son of Yosef and Atka. He was born on Wednesday, 20 September 1936, in Kibbutz Shefayim, where he studied and was educated in the kibbutz and completed his studies in elementary and high school, and was a member of the Hanoar Haoved movement. And the values ​​that served as a guiding light in his life, and he was an expert in the field of basketball and established a team in the agriculture. And led her to impressive victories, and in time he even won the title of basketball referee Threshold stamps enthusiastically and left behind a collection of fine and very neat. He loved his country and many wander up and down. He tried to impart this love to Israel to others and because of his knowledge he was awarded a certificate of a tour guide certified. Ami was drafted in mid-August 1955, and was assigned to the Intelligence Corps. After basic training, his commanders met his potential and sent him to an officer’s course, which he successfully completed. Since then, for eighteen years, he has successfully completed various courses – the course of intelligence officers, the Armored Corps course in the Armored Corps, the course of deciphering photographs, and finally he was accepted to the Command and Staff School, where he held many positions – including a deciphering guide and an instructor for intelligence officers. He loved his commanders and subordinates alike, and during his studies in the army, he was overwhelmed by the malignant disease that gnawed at him. On 29 July 1973, Major Ami died during his service and was put to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, leaving a wife and three children at the open grave. There were difficult and responsible roles during which his character and his ability as a soldier in the IDF crystallized and he was expressed in training generations of young officers. His willingness and endless dedication and the renunciation of a normal family life, characteristics and accompaniment of all the tasks he fulfilled. In the nature of his service, in the manner of his training and in the manner in which he fulfilled his duties, he became a familiar and beloved figure to all his friends. – – – he had a strong character and inexhaustible energy and knew how to fully fulfill any task assigned to him.
