Banai, David

David, son of Miriam and Shimon, was born on March 7, 1954 in Jerusalem. David was drafted into the IDF in August 1972 and joined the Armored Corps, where he completed three courses. During the Yom Kippur War David’s unit was found in the Gidi camp in the Sinai, and on the afternoon of Yom Kippur, on the 10th of Tishrei 5740 (October 6, 1973), when the enemy planes attacked the surprised camp, David fell. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery on Mount Herzl. Survived by his parents, brother and three sisters. After his fall, he was promoted to corporal.
