The eldest son of Rachel and Israel. He was born on the 29th of Tammuz 5746 (29.7.1986) at 19:20 in Nahariya. Brother to Sharon, Naama, Noa and Ehud. From his earliest years, Itamar was distinguished by his wisdom, his unique way of thinking, his developed imagination, his curiosity, and his exceptional knowledge of many fields of knowledge, as well as the remarkable qualities of sensitivity, concern for others and responsibility He studied at the “Emel Nahariya” elementary school in Nahariya, where he studied in the computer program, and from his first year in school it was clear that his learning talent was superior to what was being studied, Itamar’s knowledge and knowledge in the fields he studied and deepened When he was in first grade, when he was on a trip to Europe, he surprised everyone by reading street signs, and this special talent for languages developed steadily: Itamar showed an extraordinary understanding of the logic of the structure of language and spelling, During his high school years, in the lessons he was bored with, he taught himself to write and read Russian, and Itamar listened to varied music, both Hebrew and foreign, from Mehtal to the old and new classical. The nursery school, his mother remembers, agreed to go only if his tape recorder and tapes were accompanied. When he grew up, he learned – on his own – to play the guitar, composed compositions, and joined a group of musicians who spent many hours together playing together. At the early stage of his life, he also discovered the computer and found a whole world in it. The computer and the Internet served Itamar as a means of communicating with sources of information and with people around the world, and he took full advantage of it. Itamar was well versed in computer programs, regularly surfed the forums, and chatted. The sport in its various branches fascinated Itamar for long hours of watching together with friends and family: basketball, soccer, athletics, snooker and more, and he followed religiously the soccer and basketball leagues in Israel And abroad. He himself played basketball with his friends every Friday, and for two years played in the basketball association of “Ironi Strauss Nahariya” – a group that is now named after him. In addition, he trained at the Nahariya Community Center in Judo, and after graduating from high school, Itamar continued to the 13th grade for computer engineering degree. He must have been on basic training at the Zikim base, and four months later he was drafted into the prestigious “Blue Avnet” communications course. In the course he took an interest in the contents in depth and in his usual way, which he also understood beyond learning. His classmates tell of a person with a unique worldview who has shown great interest and curiosity in everything around him, and his willingness to help anyone who needs help. Itamar used to express his views, knew how to stand up for his rights, and thus demonstrated a high level of soldiering. During the course, Itamar took part in security missions that he carried out with devotion, seriousness, and a sense of mission. The course was successfully completed. Itamar fell in the line of duty on 6 January 2006. He was buried at the military cemetery in Nahariya, leaving his parents, three sisters, and a brother, on the first anniversary of his death, Today is full of your physical separation from us. They told me that according to halakhah your soul is here with us, at these moments, and I want to tell you things I did not say then. A year ago we parted from your frozen body in a coffin, and we saw how they were buriedPlunk deep in the ground. We did not realize then that it was a goodbye for good. Your father, me, your brothers and sisters – all of us – did not understand and said nothing to Frida, because we did not catch up. Even now it is hard for us to believe that this is for good. I still imagine seeing you at the corners of the house, remembering and talking to you and you. We all remember and embrace memories. Your friends remember your love for music and your knowledge of all its varieties – classical, metal, Israeli, and even folk songs in Russian. They also remember with longing your common pastime during high school, the romances, the playing together and the dreams of starting a band. Everyone knew and appreciated your uniqueness, even those who were not your friends, because of you or because of them. One of your friends wrote that you were different, that you were special, and that’s why he loved you so much. That you were not afraid and not ashamed and proud to be special. You helped see things differently. You were critical and did not try to be sociable or acceptable, but when you did and helped, you did it with all my heart. In your obituary they mentioned that you were a true friend, supportive and working for the sake of justice and the good of others, even if his suffering did not concern you personally. Such a kind of Don Quixote … From the course of the course in the army they said that you always acted according to the rules and expected that the soldiers and commanders would do likewise. A friend of course told us about a case in which a commander punishes soldiers and delays you to go home, and you look for the rules of General Staff, and you succeeded in canceling the punishment. Your special personality, your wisdom and your knowledge in many different areas together with being a friend and brother make you so precious and painful. Last night, just before eight, exactly a year ago, I spoke to you for the last time, you sounded tired and you said you were tired, but that did not stop us from making fun of your upcoming combat activity. ? ‘ “Do not worry, there is light there …” It turned out that there was no light, and under the cover of that darkness came your death, Itamar, your sudden separation from us struck us in astonishment and left us a question. You wanted to go and see places, leaving everything open-as if you were out for a moment and soon to be back … I do not know if we can ever overcome this painful feeling of loss, I also do not know if we will always remember all the experiences and sights of our lives with you, but I know for certain that it is a great privilege for us to be with you, I am proud of each and every one of you and all of you together. “Your place, Itamaron, is forever between us, you are ours, precious and loved by all of us.” Itamar’s friend, Kobi Goren, said in a poem: “When the day will come, the day will come, and I will fall on your neck, and I will cry.” I would like to ask, to know / to learn about everything. But you, shut up / stand aside, / as only you knew. / With a smile and a look / proud, looking over my shoulder // I’ll tell you how you fooled everyone / I will tell your friends / how they caught their heads between their hands. / How proud I was of them / for standing in the painful position / And that is what was forced on them / How I will not let you down in the difficult moments // And you are in your silence like Tirmuz. / And I will understand alone. / Why only then / Not before. // I will tell how we walked / You were the first to lead I will tell you how we stood / When the earth – Her mouth opened / And you – I will tell you how to stand / Where you set your position // and your mother, who lookedUnbeliever / How to Build – It has a dream / Taken from it at once. / And now it has become a dream. // How she lamented over time / Over the cold stone, / As a look, And you / See every corner. // I’ll look at you as if trying to understand / want to say – / Sorry! “
