Azoulay, Abraham


Avraham (Mike, Bar), son of Hasiba (Simcha) and Masoud, was born on the 9th of Shevat 5714 (1949) in Casablanca, Morocco, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1962. He began his studies in Morocco, where he studied for two years in elementary school. Afterward, he studied at the Morasha elementary school in Mount Carmel. After graduating from elementary school, he went to study in one of the yeshivas in Bene Beraq, but not long afterwards returned to Tirat Hacarmel and studied at the vocational high school in the mechanical framework. Abraham loved pop music very much. He devoted himself to painting, and especially to landscape paintings. He was a cheerful, playful man with a sense of humor. He had a good temperament and would not be angry or upset. He spent a lot of time enjoying his life and did nothing but rejoice in his life. The proverb on his mouth was: “Eat and drink because tomorrow we will die.” Until he was drafted into the IDF as a mechanical engineer at one of the framing factories in Haifa, and was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of May 1972 and assigned to the Armored Corps. After completing basic training, he was sent to a tank artillery course and was awarded a high grade (95). In the Yom Kippur War Abraham fought on the Sinai front, in the battle of containment against the Egyptians. On the 10th of Tishrei 5734 (October 6, 1973), during a battle in the area of “mafreket” in the northern part of the Channel, two shells hit his tank and he was killed on the spot, he was laid to rest in the Haifa cemetery. left behind a father, mother, three brothers, and two sisters, he was promoted to the rank of corporal,
