Atadgi, Anat


Bat Tova and Eliyahu. She was born on August 12, 1971, in Tirat Hacarmel, the second daughter of a family of four. Anat studied at the Degania elementary school in Tirat Hacarmel, the Shifman junior high school and the S. Shifman high school, in the humanitarian track. In 1988, Anat went to Germany in a youth delegation, on behalf of Tirat Hacarmel Local Council. At the end of the school track Anat continued her studies at the Gordon Teachers Seminary in Haifa and completed her BA in Teaching and Education at the Levinsky College in Tel Aviv. At the end of July 1993, Anat was recruited to serve in the Israel Defense Forces and at the end of her basic training program she was assigned to serve as a teaching assistant in the IDF’s Heshva Alon School for the enrichment of the IDF. She was very diligent and devoted, and was very engaged, responsible and professional, and was very successful in her field of work, instilling confidence in her surroundings, and creating a unique relationship with her commanders: Anat was a disciplined person who knew her duties well and was friendly and pleasant. (17.7.1994), Anat fell in her role in a car accident near Hadera, when she traveled from Tel Aviv to Haifa . She was twenty-three when she died. Anat was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. Survived by her parents, two sisters – Marcel and Michal and brother – David. After her death she was promoted to sergeant. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “During her military service, Anat underwent a major change in her attitude toward the army. She was always very close to her smile, her kindness, the warmth she radiated around her and her personal maturity, all of which characterized her as a commander and as a person. ” The family commemorated her name in a Torah scroll that they put into the synagogue where her father, Eli, was praying. On Purim, her memory was also engraved on the scroll of Esther that was purchased for the synagogue.
