Amrani, Saadia


Son of Hamama and Shimon, was born on 15 March 1922 in Jerusalem. When he was five years old, he went with his parents to Egypt, when his father, who was a scribe in Jerusalem, was invited to serve as Shiv in Egypt. When he returned to Israel at the age of 14 with his parents who settled in Tel Aviv, he studied at Yeshivat HaYeshuv HaChadash and later at the Bnei Akiva Yeshiva in Kfar HaRoeh, where he was invited to serve as a teacher and guide for the children of Yemenite immigrants In the village of Ganim near Petah Tikva, Sa’adia enlisted to defend the homeland during the War of Independence and was one of the defenders of Mishmar Hayarden, where the Syrians attacked the colony with great force and succeeded in conquering it, which fell on Tuesday, June 10, 1948. His brother Eliezer fell a month before in the battles of Jerusalem. After the renewal of the settlement, his body was identified and transferred on the 22nd of Tammuz 5710 (22.6.1950) to eternal rest in the military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem
