Amir, Shmuel-Israel (Sami)


Son of Rina and Albert was born on May 15, 1948, and immigrated to Egypt with his family from Egypt in 1941. The family settled in Tel Aviv and after a while moved to the Ein Dor neighborhood of Haifa. He participated in the Six-Day War and was awarded the Medal of the Campaign and the Operational Service Award. In the middle of February 1969, Shmuel was released from regular service, married and began working as a carpenter at the Nesher cement factory. Shmuel during the Yom Kippur War and received the war signal on April 20, 1981, during one of the IDF operations against the bases of terrorists in Lebanon. Captain Shmuel fell in the line of duty and was put to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. After his fall, he was promoted to the rank of Major. He left a wife, son and daughter, parents and two brothers.
