Amen, Uri
Son of David and Miriam. He was born on August 6, 1939 in Kibbutz Shefayim. He was born to an old family in Israel: his grandfather, for whom he was named, was one of the first volunteers to the first Jewish battalion in Judea; His father – one of the founders of Kibbutz Shefayim and head of the council of the Hof Hasharon region; His mother – the first teacher in the place. He grew up in his kibbutz and studied it with diligence and depth until he finished high school. He was always interested in the natural sciences and in agriculture and in literature and history. Everyone saw him as the conscience of his class. For two years he was a counselor in the Hanoar Haoved movement in the Netanya branch, and his love for his students proved to him how successful he was in training. From his strong desire for physical activity, sport became an important place in his life; At sea he loved swimming and sailing and land-the soccer game. His part in hard labor was also considerable; Even when he was a student, he began to work in the barn and has not abandoned since. In addition to the work itself, he devoted himself to studying the profession and delved into it, and his colleagues saw it as the future center of the industry. He aspired to study animal medicine and become a veterinarian. After serving in the IDF, he served in the reconnaissance unit of the Paratroopers Brigade and completed his aspirations to become acquainted with the country, and his love for traveling there was very strong from his childhood. On 17 August 1959 he fell in the line of duty and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in his kibbutz, and the newsletter “Our Expression,” which appears in his kibbutz, was devoted entirely to his memory on the occasion of the “30th anniversary” of his death. A collection was published by Kibbutz Shefayim, which includes a collection of memoirs and a collection of his writings and essays. The sons who fell in the role, his memory was raised in the book “Wars of the Paratroopers” by Uri Milstein.
