Abutbul, Yaakov (Jackie)
Son of Eliyahu and Ronet. Born on 6 February 1957 in the city of Thadla, Morocco, he immigrated to Israel with his parents in 1962. His parents settled in the city of Ashdod, where he studied at the Yad Shabtai Elementary School, , Until the eleventh grade. He completed grades 11-12 in the Air Force Technical School in Haifa as an aviation technician until his induction into the army. As testified by his family and friends, was a smiling boy, shy and very devoted to his family. He liked to help his friends who were having a hard time studying and were connected to his teachers. He was a member of the Ezra movement of religious youth. He liked to read a lot of literature and devoted himself mainly to the basketball game he loved. On February 11, 1976, Yaakov was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces and served in the Israel Air Force in a position he had previously trained in the Air Force Technical School, where he spent his military service in El Arish, Who was “a good friend, a decent and honest fellow, smart and loved by his friends and commanders.” His friend at the time testified that he was “a quiet, innocent, devoted and loyal soldier.” At that time he was planning his future after completing his military service.
