Abramovitz, Zvi (Zvika)
Son of Yitzhak and Shoshana, Holocaust survivors. He was born on 18.12.1953 in Tel Aviv. He attended elementary school in Tel Aviv. When he was 14, his family moved to Ashdod. He studied for three years at the local high school and then went on to study electronics in Tel Aviv. At the end of his 12 years of studies, he moved to Tel Aviv, where he studied at Pilot, in a laboratory for repairing television sets. Zvika was a good student and excelled mainly in technical subjects. He would build transistors himself and deal with various problems related to electronics. He was handsome and his success illuminated him in society. Be the first in every group and friend of everyone. He played a lot of sports, played soccer in Hapoel Ashdod and excelled in this game. He also guided youth teams in soccer. Zvika loved the landscape of the country and looked up at it, on the many walks he conducted throughout the country. Zvika was drafted into compulsory service on 8.2.1972 and chose to serve in the Armored Corps. He passed all the courses until he became commander in the Armored Corps, with the rank of lieutenant colonel. The Yom Kippur War found Zvika in Sinai. During the crossing of the Suez Canal, his tank was hit by an anti-tank missile, and he was hospitalized in a field hospital, but he did not tell anyone about his injuries. In the aftermath of some friction between him and his commanders at the base, he tended to decide on a different way of life than that of his brother, Who initially thought of him as an officer in the permanent army, which led to a deterioration in his mental state, to the point of depression Zvika died during his service on the 4 th of September 1975, Was only 21 and a half years old and was brought to eternal rest in the Ashdod cemetery, leaving behind his parents and two brothers.
