Son of Ziva and Jacob was born on April 13, 1961 in Netanya, where Eyal was the eldest son of his parents and the first child in the family, and when he was an infant he moved with his parents to live in Be’er Sheva. Eyal studied in Netanya at the Itamar Elementary School, and continued high school at the Sharett School, where Eyal was an alert young man, talented and thirsty, who read and was interested in everything, and usually preceded his age. For years, the family settled in Ramat Hasharon, and together with his sister and brother, he adapted to the new environment: Eyal studied at the comprehensive high school in Ramat Hasharon, specializing in mathematics and physics. A group of young people with values, with whom Eyal found a common language, they used to engage in ideological, political, and social debates, at which time Eyal distinguished himself in his deep understanding and ability to study. , Who had a passion for Eretz Israel, national recognition and a belief in Zionist destiny, Eyal liked to travel, and was the driving force in arranging trips on foot throughout the country. In his personal life Eyal was very modest, contented himself with little and had no material demands. During his pre-enlistment leave he preferred to work on the security fence in the Jordan Valley and on trips around the country, and did not travel abroad like many of his friends. His skills opened up many ways for him. Eyal looked for a challenge and chose the Artillery Corps because he believed that the officer combines a lot of professional knowledge with command of people and an opportunity to educate and lead. At the end of 1979, Eyal enlisted in the IDF and succeeded wherever he went, but he never boasted of his accomplishments, and his promotion was quick, and after two years of hard work in a combat unit and various courses he was awarded the rank of officer. The soldiers stood out as a commander, as a “professional,” as an educator who “cares for the soldiers and really loves them.” His commanders, who knew his skills, appointed him to the instructor in the officer’s course, and his reputation, his lucid thinking, his basic approach and his ability to explain and teach. The Galilee, he was chosen, as an outstanding and responsible officer, to launch an operational operation and was sent across the Lebanese border to the Gaza Strip He completed his mission in its entirety, but near the end, his vehicle boarded a mine over the cliffs of the Litani River, and Eyal fell in the line of duty on 28 April 1982 at the age of 20. After his death, Eyal was put to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, where he left his parents, brother and sister, and wrote a book in which his family and friends wrote in his memory: Eyal did not win long, Which contained him, all his talents, but the life that lived – properly lived them. In his short life, Eyal managed to illuminate a way and show an example to young people and adults.
