Zuckerman, Peretz (Paul)


Son of Leah and Mendel, was born on July 27, 1926, in the city of Tulce, Romania. He attended school and was active in his youth in the Zionist movement. At the age of twenty he left the Diaspora and boarded the Haganah in 1946. He was in a training group at Ramat Hakovesh. Was a “defense” man from the day he immigrated to Israel. Peretz served in the “Harel” Brigade and fell in combat in the “Maccabi” operation for the breakthrough to Jerusalem on Wednesday, May 13, 1948, when the armored vehicle he was traveling in was hit and all the fighters were injured.
