Zuckerman, Amos
Son of Yosef and Fania. He was born on the 3rd of Tishrei 5710 (5.10.1940) in Haifa, and after graduating for several years at the Reali School he moved to the Hugim High School where he completed his studies, But after that, he began to discover the joyfulness of his guts and the sense of humor in which he had been gifted, and when he grew up, he became more and more friendly and loved all his knowledge for his virtues. In the hobby he began to deal with from the age of 13 – collection of stamps (mostly Israeli); He even registered for the philatelic service. In his last years he was very interested in sayings; he collected them from various sources and wrote them in notebooks. He also dedicated himself during his free time to sports – especially basketball – and was a youth basketball instructor at Hapoel on Mount Carmel. He was drafted into the IDF in August 1957 and after the basic training period he entered the Armored Corps, which was a difficult task, but he would say, “I will not be a Jobnik; I will be a combat soldier with a red background. “He was seriously wounded in the course of his duty, and a few days later, on 8 August 1960, died of his wounds and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. In the year of Tevet 5761, a booklet bearing his name appeared, and his friends on the Hapoel basketball court in Haifa give a year after the end of the league games, a trophy in his name and his memory to the winning team.
