Zohar, Ran (Rani)
Son of Haim and Sarah. He was born on May 5, 1950 in Kibbutz Hokuk in the Kurazim region. His parents were among the first settlers on the kibbutz, and Rani was one of the first children to be born there. He spent his childhood in the small group of children in the kibbutz and was educated in the local elementary school. Here he was also accepted as a member of the Hakibbutz Hameuchad division – Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed. Afterward, he attended the Hokok-Ginossar High School, where he showed a special interest in the real professions. During his spare time, he liked to play sports: soccer, basketball and swimming – a sport that excelled in him. Was popular among all his friends. For health reasons, he was prevented from enlisting in the IDF like all his peers, which hurt him very much, and he talked about the possibility of changing the decision. He was married to a new immigrant who came to live in Arad, where they were born Benny Rani found a permanent job in an industrial factory and was the living spirit And after the Yom Kippur War, when the IDF turned to people outside the army to come for a repeat health examination Rani among the first acceptances. He was given the opportunity to enlist in the IDF and serve in the IDF, where he underwent a basic training course and was assigned to the engineering unit of the engineering corps, but shortly afterwards he fell in the line of duty on 17.8.1975. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
