Zlikson, Avner


Son of Ruth and Amos, was born on August 28, 1961 in Jerusalem. He received his first education at an elementary school in the capital. He then moved with his parents to Haifa, where he continued his studies at the Reali School. After seven years of schooling, the family went on a two-year mission to France, where he attended a school in Paris. When he returned to Israel he completed his studies at the Reali School in Haifa, specializing in mathematics. Avner excelled in his studies, especially in mathematics, and was chosen by the Ministry of Education for a team of eight students from all over the country who represented Israel in the 1979 Summer Olympics in England. Shortly after returning from the Olympics in October 1979, Avner enlisted in the IDF and began a basic training course on the 29th of Tevet, 5729 (29.12.1979). Avner was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Haifa. He left behind his parents and brother.
