Zlatin, Avigdor
Son of Binyamin and Chaya. He was born on the 25th of Adar 5747 (17.3.1947) in Jerusalem. He attended the Sokolov elementary school and then completed his studies at the Agron School. He then studied at the Bezeq high school for the post office. He was a member of the Scouts movement and loved to sing and play the guitar. On the 26th of Heshvon, on November 1965, he was drafted into the IDF but did not complete his regular service, and on 27 November 1967, he died in the course of his duties on the Jerusalem-Jericho route, and was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. In his condolence letter to his family, “Avigdor was one of the best soldiers and commanders in the battalion and did his job in the best possible way, with the joy and energy that characterized his behavior.”
