Zimmerman, Israel-Yechiel

Son of-Yona-Issachar and Esther. He was born on Wednesday, December 3, 1932 in Ramat Gan, where he completed his studies at the “Mizrachi” school, belonged to the Irgun and was active in various activities. Was a craftsman by profession and with his own hands and with the help of his brother he built an apartment for his parents. Was a soccer player in Beitar Ramat Gan, was drafted into the IDF in November 1950 and served in the military police as one of the patrol dogs who assisted in maintaining the borders. Prior to the Sinai Campaign, he served in a combat unit and fell during his duty on a tour near Rafah on November 18, 1956. He was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
