Zilberser, Sigal
Daughter of Shoshana and Amram, was born on March 3, 1966 in Jerusalem. Her family moved to Holon, where Sigal attended elementary school and the New High School. She completed her studies in a real-time track. Sigal aspired to perfection, tried to achieve achievements, and excelled in her studies. In November 1984, Sigal enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and was sent to a training course for the IDF soldiers, “In Netanya. On the 10th of Shevat 5745 (February 1, 1985), Siegel fell and was buried in the army cemetery in Holon, at the age of 19. She left behind her parents and two brothers, and the commander of her unit wrote to her family: “Sigal always wanted to succeed, to be the best. She set high goals for herself and realized them. I pointed out to myself that Sigal had to go on an officer’s course. Her great seriousness, her respectable appearance, and her rational approach to things highlighted the great potential that the child had in her. She was a high-quality soldier. We were proud of the unit for having placed such a good female soldier.”
