Zibil, Yechiel

Yechiel, son of Victoria and Yaakov, was born on 10.3.1941 in Izmir, Turkey. In 1944 the family immigrated to Israel and settled in Kibbutz Givat Brenner, where Yechiel passed through his childhood and adolescence. He studied elementary and high school in the Givat Brenner school. The beginning of his absorption in the kibbutz was difficult, but when he grew up learning the language and becoming accustomed to his foreign lifestyle and thought, he joined the kibbutz members as one of them. In school he was a great naughty but also very sensitive – he did not suffer insults and often closed himself in. He was fond of all sorts of cooking and concocting, making attempts to produce fragrant flowers, frying mushrooms and fries, and inviting friends to eat “I have to donate something to my friends,” he said, “the boots will be available to all those working in the cowshed, and the basketball will be for all of us” “He was already a boy of an adult character and a sense of responsibility, especially when he loved babies and when his brother was born, He was so Simcha that he wrote in his private diary: “My mother gave birth to a little baby.” When he met the boy from the youth company who had no parents in the farm, he begged me His mother, who accepted him as a member of the household, was a second brother to Yehiel, who did not devote much time and time to his achievements and grades, but took great responsibility for his work at the school, where he worked for five years. The inherent responsibility was also another aspect of his character. From kindergarten he liked to participate in parties and plays, and managed to express his strong inclination to drama and hilarity. After graduating from high school, he and his fellow kibbutz members went for an early year of service. From there he wrote to his mother, who found him a very nice girlfriend and he wanted to accept her as a daughter. Yehiel was drafted into the IDF in the middle of August 1960 and was assigned to the infantry in the Shaked Reconnaissance Unit, where he completed a parachuting course, and in the middle of February 1963 Yehiel was discharged from the regular army, serving as a reserve soldier in the Motta Gur Brigade, which liberated Jerusalem. After his release, Yechiel returned to the farm, married his girlfriend Chava, and eventually the couple had four children: Hagit the eldest, followed by Osnat, Nimrod and Hadas, and the older girls were born in Givat Brenner. When his first daughter was born, he was not Simcha with him, so his devotion and concern was revealed not only as a son and as a brother He also took care of the child, changed her diapers and fed her, and every other child who was born was given the same first joy, with the same attention: a typical picture of Yehiel, like Hercules, carrying a pile of children on his shoulders and admired by them. Yehiel is funny … Yechiel can be romped properly. “In 1966, the family moved to Moshav Regeva, where he worked in the furniture factory, efficiently organizing his work, knowing how to demand and accepting, and doing his work in a practical and quiet manner. Fair and courteous. In order to improve his professional knowledge in management and efficiency, he participated in a course of the Institute for Productivity in the evening. In addition to his ongoing work, he contributed greatly to the moshav’s cultural committee. Thanks to his talent for acting, his original ideas and cultural baggage, his proposals and comments were always taken seriously. As an actor, he had a good sense of humor, but did not hurt. He had a thin, critical sense of distinction. heNot only played, but also took part in building the program. He never forced his opinion on others. When he encountered stubborn resistance, he would retreat and give up. He had no hardness and fanaticism to achieve his goals, but at the same time excelled in loyalty to the team, the job and the mission. Yechiel went sick for the Yom Kippur War. Of course he could free himself from a real battle. But no such idea occurred to him. As a member of the Paratroopers Brigade, he joined the division of Ariel Sharon. On the night of the breakthrough on the other side of the canal, the commando unit was sent to occupy the “Tartur Lexicon” intersection near the Chinese Farm, where Yehiel’s half-track, commanded by Gideon Halevi , And he fell on 16.10.1973. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery of Moshav Regba. He left behind a wife, three daughters and a son, a father, a mother, a sister and a brother. After his fall, he was promoted to sergeant. In his memory, Regba published a pamphlet containing the words of friends about his character and fragments of his letters.
