Ziadah, Ziad
Born on March 1, 1963 in the Druze village of Yanuh, in the western Galilee, to a large family of children. Ziad attended school in the village and then went to work to help support the large family. During this period he had many friends, and he was active in the youth house in the village. Ziad took part in activities and courses held at the Youth House, where he acquired friends and became fond of them. He was kind and acceptable to people of all ages in his village. In 1981 Ziad was drafted into the IDF and volunteered for a combat unit, serving in the infantry battalion during the Peace for Galilee war in the central sector, and later in the eastern sector. Ziad took part in the effort to stand up to the Syrians during a difficult period of multiple incidents and in very difficult weather. On the morning of that day, he heard from his friend, who had returned from a vacation, that his father had had a car accident. He asked to go out to his house, but not before handing out the diesel. Indeed, Ziad went out to do his job and was soon killed, when the truck he was traveling in was overturned. He fell in the line of duty on 5.3.1984.
