Zelmister, Daniel


Son of Sigmund and Ruth. Born in Sao Paolo, Brazil, on June 26, 1947, graduated from high school, was a member of the Dror youth movement in his home country, was interested in art and showed a special inclination towards it. 1965 and May of the following year (1966) was drafted into the IDF. About six months later, he fell in the line of duty on the 29th of Marhashon, 5727 (November 12, 1966) with his commando on a mine on the Jordanian border. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Kfar Szold. His memory was mentioned in Uri Milstein’s book, “The Paratroop Wars.”
