Zeligman, Isaac (Hans)


Son of Anna and Arthur, was born on August 16, 1927, in the city of Dirdorf, Westerwald district, Germany. He studied in an elementary school and from a young age he was educated in the spirit of Zionism. His parents, who were mansions, planted the love of land and of life. In 1937, his parents immigrated to Israel and settled in Hadar Ramatayim, where Yitzhak cultivated his father’s farm and was interested in work. During the Second World War, he joined the Hachash Service in Ramatayim and at night was a coach and mentor of others, and without his parents’ knowledge he enlisted in the Jewish Brigade, passed through many countries from Egypt to Belgium and was busy transporting Holocaust refugees to the seaports. When he began his war in Israel, he fought in the Alexandroni Brigade, He participated in battles in the vicinity of Magdiel and fell in battle on May 31, 1948, during the Battle of Magdiel “Bin Nun in” an attack on Latrun enemy compound, in an attempt to break the road to Jerusalem. On twenty-fifth of the Declaration Cheshvan (17/11/1949) was laid-rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
