Zeitel, Meir

Zeitel, Meir

Son of Zalman and Tova. He was born on 12.12.1943 in Haifa. He studied at the Gordon Elementary School in Holon, but when his father died after a long illness (as a result of an injury during the War of Independence) and his mother was forced to go to work, Meir suffered greatly. Did she think that kibbutz life, with youth of his age, would have a positive effect on him? He then moved to Kibbutz Givat Haim, where he continued his high school studies. During the first time, he found difficulties in adapting him, but over time he woke up in social life and was a good student and loved everything. He worked there as a tractor operator. In October 1961, he was drafted into the IDF and studied at a pilot school in the Israel Air Force, on the 28th of Nissan 5723 (21.4.1963), while he was fulfilling his duties and was brought to rest in the civil cemetery at Kibbutz Givat Haim. The kibbutz issued a booklet in his memory.
