Zeira (Klein), Shimon

Son of Noah and Yosef-Yehoshua, was born on 28.1.1930 in the city of Ozhorod, Carpatho-Ross. He survived the concentration and extermination camps and after World War he dealt in training in a religious nucleus in Kosice, Slovakia. Shimon immigrated to Israel in 1946 on the “Jewish Soldier” ship and was educated in Eretz Israel for work and protection in a youth group in Mikvah Israel. At the outbreak of the War of Independence, Shimon enlisted in the army and fell in the defense of Be’erot Yitzhak on July 15, 1948. He was buried there on the 20th of Cheshvan 5710 (31.10.1950) and was transferred to the military cemetery at Har- Herzl in Jerusalem.
