Zeiler, Yosef
Son of Miriam and Yitzhak. Born in Budapest, Hungary on 21.4.1912, he completed elementary school in 1926. In 1926, at the age of fourteen, his parents were forced to leave Hungary because of the difficult economic situation and moved to the Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia. Yosef went on to study as an apprentice in a textile factory, and together with his brother immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1935 as a participant in the Maccabiah and was sent to Kibbutz Heftziba in the valley, where he married a short time later. He left the kibbutz and moved to Haifa, where he joined the Haganah and joined the police as a guard. He married and established a home. On 1 Sivan (5/19/1939) he went to work in Kfar Hassidim. The car he was driving in collided with a truck and Yosef was seriously injured. The wounded man was taken to the hospital and died of his wounds a few hours later. He was brought to eternal rest in the Kedoshim section of the Haifa cemetery. He left a wife and two brothers.
