Zeida, Avigdor-Eliahu


Son of Dov and Hannah, was born on March 5, 1924, in the city of Vincenzi, Romania, where he completed his studies in an elementary school. In 1942 Avigdor-Eliahu was sent to a German labor camp in the Russian-occupied territory. He immigrated to Israel in 1949 through Cyprus, where he was a guide in the Haganah. He was drafted into the IDF in February 1949. Avigdor-Eliahu fell in a battle with infiltrators in Wadi Serer on the 28t of Tevet, January 6, 1951 and was brought to rest in the Military cemetery in Nahalat Yitzhak.
