Major Ze’ev Vermouth, son of Rachel and David, was born on the 22nd of Adar A (28.2.1951), in Poland.
Son of Holocaust survivor parents, the youngest child in the family, including three older siblings: Pima, Leon (Aryeh), Israel.
His family immigrated to Israel when he was five and settled in Nazareth-Elite, where he lived and educated.
When he reached high school, he chose to attend the Naval Officers’ School in Acre, following his brother who served in the Navy.
Ze’ev loved the military boarding school and integrated well, connecting with the military framework that gave him values and ability to cope with any difficulty.
“Willow”, as his friends called him, remembered him as sociable and accepted, excelled in school, smiled and pleasant manner, always optimistic, loyal friend.
In 1969, he graduated and enlisted in the Navy, graduated in the 2nd Cycle of Cruise Course and was ordained as a Machine Officer-Chip in Steel (Rocket Ship).
Served as a fighter in the Naval Commandos on the 13th Cruise.
Completing the compulsory service continued with permanent service.
Among other things, he served as a machinist at “Brother of Arrow” and “Brother of Haifa,” and participated in his service in battles for Latvia, Demiat, Rosetta, Fort Said and Banias during the Yom Kippur War.
Dozens of Syrian missiles were fired on the ship during the fighting, and its fighters were able to sink a Syrian missile.
Over the years, in his regular and reserve service, Ze’ev has been a partner in obscure operational operations, all of which have shown adherence to the mission, and his honors have been a personal example to his colleagues.
In 1977, he was released from the rank of major.
He applied for public service and began working at the Defense Ministry, where he first met Dalia. The couple married and set up their home in Holon.
They had a son and daughter-in-law, Omar and Inbal.
Ze’ev was a loving husband, a devoted father and caring for his children, and there was always a spark in his eyes and love in his voice as he talked about his family.
The family often spent time together, among other things, on trips around the country and abroad.
He was a loving father, always guarding his children, the warmth he lacked in his childhood gave abundantly to his children. The tough look disappeared when he was with his children and grandchildren.
“We were best friends” said his wife Dalia and “we loved each other”.
Later, Ze’ev moved to the field of investigations at the National Insurance Institute, where he worked for about 40 years.
Notable in his work, from the beginning, his superiors saw him as an outstanding scholar, intelligent and witty, enterprising, thirsty for innovator in the field.
His investigations were characterized by integrity and fairness, and over the years he won awards for his work and initiatives.
Even in the social sphere, ballet days and work parties were the nail of the evening thanks to his comfortable nature and sense of humor.

Ze’ev was a man of clusters who loved to read reference books, loved documentaries on historical subjects, was interested and deepened in a variety of fields and was very knowledgeable and able to contribute on any subject.
Ze’ev combined his studies at Bar-Ilan University, graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science and sociology and with a degree in public administration.
A humble and humble man with a captivating smile, a model of humility, enlightenment, evil and companionship.
A devoted friend with endless giving, greatly assisted his friends in school and every need, a person all his grandparents testified that they had as a brother.
In August 2016, cancer was discovered. For two years he fought the disease with all his strength, trying to continue his routine.
The feeling that accompanied him in the last few days was actually a way of life that the family above all.
Ze’ev Vermoth passed away on the 26th day of Tamuz 5769 (5.7.2018) at the age of sixty-seven.
He was brought to rest in Holon Cemetery.
Survived by wife – Dalia, son and daughter-in-law, Omar and Maya, daughter and son-in-law – Inbal and Itzik, five grandchildren: Shahaf, Amit, Or, Adam, Ofek, and three brothers: Pima, Leon (Aryeh), Israel.
In her farewell to her husband and the love of her life, Dalia said: “My beloved husband, our father and grandfather, we will remember you forever.”
