Zed-Koresh, Baruch
Baruch, son of Cookie and Joseph, was born in 1949 in Carmona, France, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1962. In the beginning of August 1973, after completing his mandatory service, Baruch was discharged from the IDF and began working in a stainless steel factory. Then he married his girlfriend Shoshana. When the Yom Kippur War broke out he joined the members of his unit and fought in the battles of containment and break-up in the Golan Heights. On October 19, 1973, he drove the commander’s tank in battle and was killed by the shelling of the Syrians. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by a wife, parents, brothers and sisters. After his fall, he was promoted to sergeant.
