Zaruk, Binyamin


Son of Shalom and Salma. He was born on the 28th of Tamuz 5759 (August 2, 1959) in Rehovot, the son of Moshav Hatzav. He did the kindergarten in his moshav and completed his elementary studies at the Mevo’ot School in Be’er Tuvia. He loved music and singing above all, and during his free time his friends were sitting at home listening to Benjamin’s tape recorder. He stood out in his cheerful spirit and in the joy of life that he sang about his surroundings. At a young age, he entered the burden of supporting the family. He studied and worked in a garage for automotive mechanics. From then on his path was paved for integration into the Armored Corps, when it was time for him to enlist in regular service, in November 1977. But seven days after his enlistment, when he was stationed at the Armored Corps school, On the day of Tu B’Tev 5738 (December 24, 1977), he fell in his service, was brought to eternal rest in the soil of his quarry and left behind his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
