Zarka, Mordechai (Moti)
Ben Lydia and Ilan. He was born on March 22, 1970 in Ramot Naftali. He studied at the Mevo’ot Hermon Elementary School. He completed his studies at the Hula Valley High School in Kfar Blum. Moti used to help his parents work in the family farm. As a single male he assumed responsibility for the spraying and the orchards. Moti was drafted into the IDF in late 1988 and volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade After serving as a platoon commander, he was placed in the Central Command as commander of a regional brigade, and his commander describes him as a shy and humble man. “It was also written that Moti was a” good, responsible, decent and diligent soldier. “On May 25, 1990, Moti fell in the line of duty and was brought to eternal rest in Ramot Naftali. Survived by his parents and three sisters – Orly, Hagit and Idit. He was promoted to sergeant after his death. In his obituary, his commander wrote: “You – young, active, responsible, loyal to the homeland – connect with me in one of the most difficult periods for me, as a young boy, as a son, a partner in everything. In your arms, like a child on the shoulders of his father, to the very front spot where I could influence the battle, about twenty yards from the terrorists. So I knew your virtues and your love for me without reservation, I knew that you were winking from fine material, and all along we would know that you are man, a landscape of our homeland. And, let us remember and not forget. “
