Zarfati, Moshe (‘Moshito’)
Son of Eliyahu and Abigail was born on April 12, 1954, in the city of Tetouan, Morocco. When he was two years old, he immigrated to Israel with his family and settled in Be’er Sheva. Moshe studied at the Avot Elementary School and at the Amal High School he bought himself the profession of electricity. Electricity was both his profession and his hobby. He used to dismantle various instruments, to examine them, correct them, and reassemble them. In order to expand his professional education he used to read professional literature in various languages. He was a member of the Margaliot youth club and was involved in various sports activities. Due to the poor economic situation at home Moshe received a deferral service for a year so that he could help support the family. Moshe was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of May 1973 and was assigned to the Ordnance Corps, where he underwent professional courses and was certified as an electrical technician, generators and systems, and was assigned to a regional workshop of the Armored Corps and made great efforts in handling tanks and returning them to fitness. 1974) Moshe was killed while serving in the cemetery in Be’er Sheva and left behind a mother, three sister brothers, who was promoted to the rank of sergeant in his letter of condolence to the bereaved family: “Corporal Moshe Zarfati, A long time in our unit, his friends were loyal to the unit and contributed greatly to the IDF’s array and to the unit’s reputation.
